what the f*ck are the akashic records?

living a three dimensional experience in a three dimensional world, how we perceive the world is, expectedly, through shapes and forms. 

yet how we exist today, our most precious of information, our record-keeping, our desires, our daily communication, even our selfies; all exist on a platform we cannot see, and can sometimes struggle to describe. 

an amorphous, invisible, ever-changing entity which is always updating.

our cloud. 

the thing about the cloud is: it exists without judgment, without guidance, without editing. it does not only save photos that you look good in; it doesn’t erase drafts of emails or texts that you probably shouldn’t send. it doesn’t give greater importance to a grocery list or a list of positive affirmations in your notes. 

it just is. just an account of what was and what is, always updating, always moving in tandem with you. 

and maybe that’s a good place to start when we ask, “what the f*ck are the akashic records?”

for the uninitiated, the akashic records can feel like a tremendously overwhelming proposition. 

that the entirety of your soul’s journey through past lifetimes, karmic patterns, and potential future trajectories all live in one accessible “place;” a library of sorts, available to you or to your designated reader to pull out the information you need to live in alignment with your highest purpose… 

it sounds a bit sci-fi at best. 

we have to consider the most important factor in the creation of all akashic records: human free will. every day we wake up and have endless decisions to make that shape our lives in ways big and small. every day, to varying extents, we choose our own adventure. 

and because of this, there is no singular predicted outcome, no single path to get to your final destination. anything can happen. anything will happen. 

so, despite our human autonomy, our ability to make decisions, despite the knowledge that with the records there is no definite outcome, nothing to be gained with absolute certainty - 

why do i believe this is one of the most enlightening and life-changing forms of divination?

and, more importantly - how can the akashic records bring you to your highest potential destiny in this lifetime?

if you’re still with me… good! this is dense. it’s esoteric. it’s a lot more questions than answers. but if you can come into the experience with a blank slate, with no expectations, all the better. 

because the best way to work with the akashic records is to truly connect with their unbiased neutrality; know that there is nothing that can be gained with certainty from accessing what they will show, but that in their connectedness to our soul’s purpose, what follows is guidance to what we came here to do.

trust that when we come with an open mind, unattached to a particular outcome or path to get there, that the records will guide us to our purpose. that what we have come here in this lifetime to achieve, to experience, is there.

that if we ask: what am i here to do?

then the answer will appear. 

that if we are open and asking, it will lead us to a path that is reflective of what our soul wants to live and explore through the highest potential outcomes. what if we don’t follow that direction? what if it scares us to pursue that path, or we want to choose another, or if we are tapping into free will or resistance? then we’ll also see that leads to a different outcome. 

nothing will come as a “warning,” or as any kind of omen. there is no right, no wrong. 

the neutrality of the records ensures that without judgment, it will just suggest what is and what could be next. our free will can make a quick redirection at any time, and the records will do nothing except make a note of this.

so the first time i had my akashic records accessed, with my reader, priss salem, intuitive healer, i arrived bewildered and completely open to the experience, with a list of burning existential questions that had been coming up. here’s a few that are publishable:

what is my purpose in this lifetime and why does it feel like it is shifting in this moment

what karmic patterns do i need to release

why do i feel so undeserving of what i desire 

why am i getting so many specific and intentional signs from my guides 

because i was coming from a place of still not completely understanding what to expect, my feelings were neutral and open to anything that might come up for me; the ideal perspective.

for deep and existential questions, came deep and existential answers. 

and the central message, which was:

“you have to forget everything you know. it’s time for a change.”

priss + i have worked together through several sessions, and one thing i can say is this: there has never been a single definitive answer. when there was a perceived opportunity to move in a different direction, i witnessed the potential outcomes from making those choices and pivoted accordingly. we talked in real time about how those adjustments could potentially unfold. 

ultimately, the path i am on now is guided in alignment with that first + latest direction. i took a detour at one point, but here we are, back on track. 

SOME NOTES ON WHAT TO EXPECT

the most important thing to remember about the akashic records is just how neutral they are.

what they will reveal is the highest potential outcome of any current circumstance, as is. it is just an unfolding of the options of your current timeline.

there’s no judgment around your choices, your fears, your desires, or even your questions. the mundane is in equal measure to the largest decisions of your life. 

if you make a decision in contradiction to what you hear, that is fine; if you strive to live in alignment with what you hear, that is also fine. 

there is no right or wrong, good or bad. it just is. 

the akashic records represent all of your lives before, all that you are now, and all of your potential; so when you question the akasha, you are actually tapping in to yourself. into your own subtle body. into your etheric body. into your highest self. 

the guidance is really you, from the vantage point of that highest potential outcome, leading you on the path to get to that timeline. 

also - there is no predicted outcome, because, as a reminder, free will exists.

as humans, we were born with the gift of free will; your akashic records are your creation based on the choices you make.

but that is the whole point! in our reality, we came here to be the creators of our own reality, and we are creating our lives all the time specifically with the type of thoughts or actions that we decide to keep. the records are just an extension of that.

understanding that it is you, your highest self, is also forging a relationship of self-trust; that if you choose the path towards your desired destiny, then it is the greatest act of self-love and self-acceptance. 

if in this realm and this timeline you feel gutted or removed from your desires, aligning with what guidance comes through in your reading is like saying yes to YOU. yes to what you want, yes to believing that you know the way, yes to the knowledge that you trust you can get yourself there. to show yourself this type of reverence is an incredible act of courage and also builds a stronger foundation for your inner strength and intuitive self-bonds. 

a lot of people approach this very afraid; you have to remember what you hear or see is that it’s you, it’s coming back to the self.

choosing to work with the akashic records not only cultivates self-love; it initiates healing and love on the highest frequency.

the simple courageous act of opening the records also invites a level of healing energy to the querent; a blessing by our highest selves for choosing to at least be curious about exploring our potential highest destinies. 

on a personal note, working with the akashic records has been a gift and an invitation to, as priss has said: “take off the mask.”

we have talked about this, and one of my favorite parts of reading with her is that she becomes… me. talks to me like i would talk to myself, candidly and directly, and always with a tone of urgency. 

to fearlessly appear in the world exactly as i desire - “even with all your THINGS” as she said to me, via… me? - about my hangups around exploring a new uncharted path, without losing another second being anyone other than who my heart truly wants to be.

and with that, a lesson so deeply beautiful, a reminder:

“the path of the healer or those seeking healing will always have obstacles so they learn to believe in themselves.”
